CM Tools Oy invests in growth and opens a business unit in Lahti

Industrial services provider CM Tools Oy is growing rapidly. With a business acquisition signed in December 2015 CM Tools will continue the machining business of Fastems Oy in Lahti starting on 4 January 2016. CM Tools, which had already performed machining before, will grow its capacity and therefore enable growth in its other areas of special expertise. In a short period of time, the company has also grown into one of the major players in the sector in Finland as measured by turnover.

Established in 1958 as a division of Ensto in the city of Porvoo and later acquired by its current owners through an MBO transaction, CM Tool’s Oy business idea is to provide its customers with special automation, tool manufacturing and life-cycle services, along with subcontracted machining and contract manufacturing.

In early 2015 the company’s annual turnover was about 2.7 million euros and it employed about 30 people. Now with the successful corporate acquisitions it has operations in three localities, Porvoo, Vaasa and Lahti. The company currently employs about 70 people and turnover is approaching 7 million euros per year.

”This was a conscious choice we made several years ago. We noticed that our customers need a strong player and we started research different opportunities. We chose to grow and develop instead of fading away. We decided that we will improve our technological expertise and take our business forward strongly. Now the future looks bright,” says Juha Martikainen, Managing Director of CM Tools Oy.

In the near future the company will develop its existing functions to be even more efficient and competitive, and invest in marketing in order to improve customer experiences and service.
